About Mike
In addition to his insurance expertise, he is very knowledgeable in income taxes, estate planning, retirement planning, real estate, and other financial services. Mike is a financial planner and President of CEI Financial and a Registered Investment Advisor. Mike has served as Chairman and President of the Georgia Society of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners (ICFP). In 2004, Mike ran as a conservative for the Georgia House of Representatives in the mega-district including Atlanta, Sandy Springs, Buckhead and part of DeKalb County. Mike�s conservative platform included reducing the growth in property and addressing the problems in the healthcare system. Mike has developed, owned and managed numerous rental properties in the Atlanta area. From 1984 to 1986, Mike was the Managing Partner responsible for construction and leasing 120-unit apartment complex. From 1981 to 1984 he served as Chief Financial Officer of a company that developed and built over 440 townhouses. Mike co-founded Investor's Trust Bank in 1984 and served as a bank Director until 1986. Mike was employed by the IBM Corporation from 1967 until 1988. His last position was "Consulting Level Finance Industry National Marketing Representative". Mike is a graduate of Georgia Tech and has served as Alumni Financial Advisor for the IOTA chapter of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. Mike has been married to his wife, Judy, for over 40 years, has two grown daughters, Michelle and Christine, and enjoys spending time with his six grandchildren. |
As an independent Insurance Agent, Mike has offered long-term care, health, life, and disability insurance since 1989. As the Insurance Agent of Record for the Financial Planning Association (FPA), Mike has developed a broad knowledge of insurance issues by helping financial planners from many states deal with their personal insurance concerns. Mike's expertise in insurance and other financial planning and investment matters has been recognized by articles published in "The Atlanta Journal", the "Practical Accountant", the "Journal of Financial Planning", and in "Planning Matters". As early as 1996, Mike was recognized as "an expert in Long Term Care" by "The Atlanta Journal".
