Atlanta Financial Planner Lands The Seniors Coalition's New National Insurance Benefit Program
ATLANTA, GA, August 20, 2007 - Michael L. Crifasi, long term resident of Sandy Springs, has been selected by The Seniors Coalition to manage their national member Insurance Benefit Program. Calling themselves "the Responsible Alternative to AARP", The Seniors Coalition has served senior citizens for over 14 years. This exciting new insurance benefit program, when added to their array of affinity and travel discounts, provides The Seniors Coalition members with an unparalleled collection of benefits.
The new insurance program features specially priced group and discounted insurance products designed to protect members from financial disaster caused by long term care, disability, death, and medical expenses. Initially, the program will include Long Term Care Insurance, Medicare Supplements (Medigap), Life Insurance, Disability Insurance and Fixed Annuities. Fixed annuities allow an insurance company to guarantee retirement income that will last for the rest of the member's life. To maximize protection at a reasonable price, only top tier insurance carriers have been selected. Discounts will vary by product and by state.
The Seniors Coalition selected Atlanta's Mike Crifasi, a Certified Financial PlannerĀ® professional, to implement the program due to his financial planning expertise and his long time concern with Senior Citizen issues. Working with Johnny Isakson, Paul Coverdell, and Bob Barr, Mike was credited by Newt Gingrich with starting the ball rolling on the "Senior Citizens Freedom To Work Act of 2000", which ended the Social Security penalty for working senior citizens aged 65 to 70.
As the 1962 Hapeville High School Star Student and a 1966 Georgia Tech graduate, Mike has been a familiar face around metro Atlanta for over 50 years. In 2003, he ran for the Georgia House of Representatives in the mega district that included most of North Atlanta. He has been married for over 40 years to his Georgia Tech sweetheart Judy. Mike raised 2 daughters in Sandy Springs, and now spends his free time with his 6 grandchildren. Crifasi holds insurance licenses in all 50 states and is nationally recognized as a Long Term Care expert with 20 years of experience, and a comprehensive knowledge of the Insurance business as it relates to seniors.
According to Crifasi, who served as 1997 President of the Georgia Society for The Institute of Certified Financial Planners, it has been difficult for seniors to get clear, understandable and complete answers about insurance coverage and costs. As "the Responsible Alternative to AARP", The Seniors Coalition wants to provide members the tools and information necessary to make educated insurance selections at a reasonable price. Mike has provided a similar set of benefits to Financial Planning Association members since 1996.
The Seniors Coalition's website, www.senior.org, provides a simple comprehensive description of each benefit option. Members have access to related articles and can request an individual quote. Crifasi's staff is available to speak with any member who needs further clarification or information.
The Seniors Coalition is working on additional insurance benefits, to be available soon.
